2. What Data We Collect and Why
2.1 Website Technical Data
When you visit our website, our hosting provider automatically logs standard technical information: your IP address, browser type and version, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit. This data is used solely to maintain website security and performance. It is not used to identify you individually and is typically retained for up to 90 days.
2.2 Contact Enquiry Form
When you complete our contact form, we collect your first name, last name, and email address, along with the content of your message. We use this information solely to respond to your enquiry. This data is stored within our WordPress website and is not shared with any third-party mailing or CRM service.
Our lawful basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries. We retain contact form data for up to two years after an enquiry is resolved, after which it is deleted.
2.3 Mailing List Sign-Up (Mailchimp)
Our website includes an optional sign-up form inviting visitors to join our mailing list. If you choose to sign up, we collect your email address. You may also be asked for your first name. This data is stored and managed by Mailchimp (The Rocket Science Group LLC), a third-party email marketing platform based in the United States.
We use the mailing list to send general news and updates about Textile Consult, and to notify subscribers when new services or tools become available. We will only send communications relevant to what you signed up for.
Our lawful basis for this processing is your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link included in every email we send, or by contacting us directly. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you unsubscribed.
Mailchimp processes your data in the United States under appropriate safeguards. Their privacy policy is available at: https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/
2.4 Consultation Booking (Calendly)
We use Calendly to manage bookings for free 30-minute discovery calls. If you book a call, Calendly collects your name and email address to manage the appointment and send you confirmation and reminder emails. No payment is taken at the time of booking.
Our lawful basis for this processing is the performance of a pre-contractual step at your request. Calendly processes data in the United States under appropriate safeguards. Their privacy policy is available at: https://calendly.com/privacy
Please note: Calendly is a separate service and this booking does not involve payment processing of any kind through our website.
2.5 Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. Google Analytics collects anonymised information including pages visited, time spent on the site, and how users arrived. This helps us improve our content and user experience.
Google Analytics sets cookies on your device (see Section 3). Data may be transferred to Google’s servers in the United States. Google LLC participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, providing appropriate safeguards for this transfer.
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. You can also manage or decline analytics cookies via our cookie consent banner when you first visit the site.
